If you’ve ever been the victim of porch pirates or just wondered about getting packages sent to you at the office, you’re gonna want to hear this. Ford announced that it is adding Key by Amazon In-Car delivery service to eligible Ford vehicles, making it so that your Amazon Prime packages can be sent directly to your ride.
FordPass™ Ecosystem Business Leader Lorin Kennedy wrote in Medium that select 2017 model-year and newer Ford vehicles equipped with FordPass Connect™ are eligible for the Key by Amazon In-Car delivery service. You need only download the FordPass™ app if you haven’t already, link your Amazon Prime account, and activate your vehicle for delivery.
To provide added peace of mind, the service notifies you through every step of the delivery, up to and including letting you know that the delivery driver has confirmed that your vehicle is relocked. You also have the option to block access to your vehicle and reschedule your delivery.
Implementing the Key by Amazon In-Car delivery service is just one of the many ways Ford is looking to improve your vehicle ownership experience. Kennedy pointed out ventures with on-demand car wash services like Spiffy, RUB A DUB, and Sparkl that will let you have your car detailed wherever’s easiest for you.
