History of Ford

The Ford Motor Company began in 1903, when Henry Ford and 11 investors began manufacturing the Ford Model A. The first of this model was sold on July 23, 1903, leading Ford to turn its first profit — $37,000 — by Oct. 1st of the same year.

From there, Ford only continued to grow. It introduced the Model T, an affordable, durable automobile, in 1908. The brand would eventually go on to sell 15 million of these models before it ceased production in May 1927, making it one of the best-selling cars of all time. Ford continued to make its mark on the industry, creating the Model TT, its first-ever truck, in 1917 to kick start its legendary truck-making prowess.

Fast forward a few profitable decades to 1954, which was a big year for the company. Not only did it introduce the iconic Thunderbird, but the company also began crash testing its vehicle. The beloved Mustang was introduced in 1964, highlighting the brand’s performance-oriented engines. This model was one of the many that helped cement Ford as a leading American automotive company.

Now, Ford continues to offer vehicles that are stylish, powerful, and durable. Its lineup encompasses a range of segments from the subcompact Fiesta to the Super Duty pickup truck lineup, each offering a dependable vehicle option.
