Ford is going where it has never gone before in its new marketing for the 2019 Ford Ranger. The 2019 Ford Ranger marketing campaign focuses on appealing to the adventurers in us all, using the tagline “Tough Has More Fun” — and it’s the first time it’s sought out those with a thrill-seeking side.
This campaign incorporates 15 adventure athletes who use the Ranger to travel across the United States. The footage, which was captured by Outside TV, shows how each athlete uses the Ranger as the most important piece of gear they need. These athletes include base jumpers, snow surfers, and more.
“Ranger is for serious adventure-seekers who rely on their gear and actively search out the best of the best for their passion,” said Matt VanDyke, Ford director of U.S. marketing. “In this case, that’s the all-new Ford Ranger. This campaign brings Built Ford Tough to life in the adventure space — new territory for Ford trucks — in a way that is decidedly not one-size-fits-all.”
Ford will kick off the national, social, and in-cinema advertising with a new commercial, which is called “Strange Creatures.” Along with this national campaign, Ford is using ultra-local insight to create location-geared ads for Seattle, Los Angeles, Boston, Phoenix, and Denver. This includes weather-triggered billboards that mirror their screens to rain, sleet, snow, or sunshine.
