At long last, Ford is offering a diesel variant of the country’s most popular vehicle: the Ford F-150. Even more exciting, the new 2018 Ford F-150 Power Stroke diesel models will offer best-in-class fuel economy on the highway: up to 30 miles per gallon.*
The new engine, a 3.0-liter Power Stroke® diesel, also yields leading numbers for city and combined: 22 miles per gallon in the city and 25 combined city/highway driving.*
How does the new diesel F-150 manage to be so efficient? It’s the product of clever engineering, utilizing Ford’s high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body and a smooth-shifting 10-speed SelectShift® transmission.
It’s not just fuel economy that Ford has prioritized with its Power Stroke engine. This powertrain is also incredibly potent, offering best-in-class diesel power of 250 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. That’s more torque than you’ll get with the 2019 Ram 1500 HEMI V8 engine.
Looking for even more best-in-class distinctions? You’ve got it: The new diesel engine for the F-150 also delivers best-in-class diesel payload at up to 2,020 pounds (XL and XLT fleet applications) or up to 1,940 pounds (retail applications).
The new 2018 Ford F-150 Power Stroke diesel option will be available at Olathe Ford starting in May.
