Tips for Tailgating: Getting Ready for Game Day

The American Tradition.

Tailgating is an American tradition, whether you’re cheering for the local high school or at the nearest professional game. At Olathe Ford, you can shop for a number of vehicles that are perfect for tailgating, like the Ford F-150 and SUVs like the Escape. Invite family and friends, prepare classic dishes, and have fun. Here are a few tips for tailgating!

According to the Huffington Post, one of the best tips for tailgating is to prepare as much as possible beforehand. Check stadium regulations to make sure you can bring everything you want, and try to prepare food early. No one wants to spend two hours behind a grill while the game’s on.  Don’t forget cutlery, napkins, and cleanup gear as well.

Hydration is key.

Some tailgaters like to enjoy the occasional alcoholic beverage, but be sure to drink one cup of water for every alcoholic drink you have. Football games can get hot in the parking lots, especially if you’re cooking food all day.

You need some tunes.

You can make an impromptu speaker system using a paper towel roll and two red solo cups. Simply cut a hole in the side of each cup to fit the roll into. Then, slit the top of the roll so you can squeeze your phone it. Once you put your phone in the roll speaker-side down, the sound will be amplified.

Don’t forget bug spray, condiments, and something to throw your garbage in. No one likes a litter-bug.

These are some of the many things to do while tailgating. Don’t Forget to stop by Olathe Ford to take home your ultimate tailgating vehicle today!
